Excursions, workshops and didactic meetings to discover the territory of the Dolomites
From September 11 to September 16, excursions, workshops and didactic meetings are organised during six days for the Geology Week, to discover the territory of the Dolomites together with geologists, paleontoligsts, glaciologists, guides and passionate guests. A series of initiatives to discover the real essence of the UNESCO Dolomites.
The initiative is organised by Museo Geologico delle Dolomiti in Predazzo and by MUSE - Museo delle Scienze together with Fondazione Dolomiti UNESCO and Parco Naturale Paneveggio Pale di San Martino, Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta Geopark, Rete di Riserve della Val di Fassa, Geoparc Bletterbach, Parco Naturale delle Dolomiti d’Ampezzo, Museo Vittorino Cazzetta Selva di Cadore, Ski Area San Pellegrino and under the sponsorship of the European Geoparks Network.
Events in Val di Fassa:
- Tuesday, September 12, at 9.00 p.m. Parish Theatre in Campitello di Fassa - "La Marmolada e il suo ghiacciaio". Meeting with Christian Casarotto, glaciologist of the MUSE - Science Museum in Trento (only Italian spoken)
- Wednesday, September 13 - "Col Margherita Park". Excursion around the new theme park at Col Margherita, organised alongside the MUSE of Trento and the geologist Claudio Valle. - Friday, September 15 - "At the hillside of Marmolada". Excursions at the hillside of the rocky slopes of "Col di Bousc" and the Marmolada glacier, guided by Christian Casarotto, glaciologist of the MUSE - Science Museum in Trento and the local mountain guides.
