In January 2017, 90 years after the great composer Antonio Carlos Jobim was born, Daria Toffali together with Massimo Faraò Trio records a tribute album to the father of Bossa Nova for the renowned Japanese jazz label Venus Records Inc.
The collaboration with Massimo Faraò Trio resulted in a smooth and elegant sound, which mirrors perfectly the sensitivity and excellence of the musicians.
Daria Toffali begins her singing career in pop-rock, jazz and funky bands, but soon discovers her great passion for Brazilian music. The first project ASA BRANCA is followed by TEMPO REI, with whom she recorded 5 CDs sold all over the world.
Massimo Faraò, often described as “the blackest of all Italian pianists” was invited to the U.S.A. for the first time in 1993 to play with Red Holloway and Albert Tootie Heath. In 1994 he signs a contract with Monad Records label of New York, partaking in the European tours of Nat Adderley quintet with Antonio Hart, Walter Booker and Jimmy Cobb. In 2001 he is part of the quartet led by Archie Shepp "Just in Time Quartet" with Wayne Dockery and Bobby Durham.
To complete the quartet we introduce Nicola Barbon, refined double bassist and esteemed teacher and Roberto "Bobo" Facchinetti, highly appreciated drummer in the national jazz scene.
