Two years on from the amazing “ ’O Sanghe ” (winner of the Targa Tenco prize in 2017 for the albums in dialect section), and after more than 200 concerts in the same period which have taken him all around Italy and across Europe, James Senese has released his double live CD ““ASPETTANNO ‘O TIEMPO” – (WAITING FOR TIME in the dialect of Naples). Project to be presented at the Torbole stage of the Garda Jazz Festival.
This record confirms James Senese as one of the greatest Italian musicians of the last 50 years. This is the number which echoes through this double album, both live and anthological at the same time, and both firsts for Senese.
In the fifty years of his career, from the seminal Showmen, then Napoli Centrale (to date the band he is most identified with), collaborations with his unforgettable friend Pino Daniele, at 73 years of age James Senese still lays down the musical lines for those artists who want to make coherence and the need for expression their points of reference. Everything that has passed through the alleys of Naples from the sixties to today owes something to him. The record features the band which has been the heart of Napoli Centrale for so long: : Ernesto Vitolo on keyboards, Gigi De Rienzo on bass, Agostino Marangolo on drums, members of the highest calibre who are, and not by chance, the same band – including Senese – which made a masterpiece of Pino Daniele’s “Nero a metà” -
This event is organised in collaboration with Sideout events.
