Fiemme Heroes Race
The first 5-discipline competition in the Dolomites
On Sunday 18th June 2017, Val di Fiemme inaugurates the first five-discipline race of the Dolomites.
The team relay toils up slopes full of flowers, caresses the peaks, rushes among the spruces and wooshes on the water.
The three outdoor elements – earth, air and water – differently performed. Five team-mates for five different sports in the open air in the Dolomites of Trentino: roller skiing, trail running, paragliding, mountain bike and rafting.
This is the common thread of Fiemme Heroes Race, the competition that will mark out the upcoming summer of Val di Fiemme and that is likely to become a fixed appointment for the outdoor and team sports lovers.
A modern evolution of the big team raids that marked the history of the world outdoor sports in the Nineties. In Fiemme Heroes Race 5-member teams are accepted – one of them must be a female member. Each member of the team can take part in only one of the trial of the circuit that winds in the bottom of the valley between Ziano di Fiemme and Lago di Tesero and the top of Alpe Cermis. Rapidly, the first athlete will reach Doss dei Laresi by roller skiing; then, he will hand the baton to the second athlete who with run a Vertical Run (950 metres of gradient uphill) until the top of Cermis at 2,230 metres above the sea level. The third member will be the paraglider, who will fly down the mountain until the Cross Country Stadium of Lago di Tesero, where the fourth athlete will jump on the MTB and ride for 15 km in the woods above Ziano. In the last stretch, on board a “comfortable” rafting rubber boat, the racers will cross the finish line after more than 4 km of waves and jumps along the river Avisio.
