Festival in the "Ciajeole" district
Feast in "Ciajeole". Popular party with typical food, itinerant music bands and handicraft exhibitions
"Ciajeòle" is the oldest neighbourhood of Moena. Its name derives from the Ladin word "ciajea", the room where in ancient times people used to make the cheese. According to the tradition that connects "Ciajeòle" to gastronomy, there are many stands where to taste local cheese, especially the "Puzzone di Moena". Walking through the streets, passing by ancient houses and barns, you will listen to music but above all see the carved wooden mask makers, sculptors specialized in the production of "facères", working in a special symposium.
To visit: the small Madonnina church, founded in 1713 and built in Gothic style, with a wooden altar and another altarpiece by Giovanni Felicetti from Val di Fiemme.
