Chestnut feast
The chestnuts of Castione are the undisputed protagonists
The feast of the Chestnut of Castione is a greedy occasion to sample chestnuts, typical dishes of Trentino, cakes, beer and liquors made with chestnuts.
For the second year Cesare Battisti Park will be the location of the feast, while in the previous year it took place in the medieval village of Castione. The “Palù Park” is wonderful with its autumnal colours and it is ideal for families: wide green spaces,benches and a very nice playground.
At the big tent in both the days, at lunch and at dinner, the volunteers of the Association for the Chestnuts of Castione safeguard will prepare typical dishes of Trentino, some of them will be revisited using the queen of the weekend: the chestnut.
Beside the deliciousness that you could taste at C. Battisti park during the two days, taste a menu made using chestnuts in some of the restaurants of the Upland… you won’t be disappointed!
What about a nice stroll through the discovery of the chestnut groves of Castione?
The path is about 4 km long and it will let you know more about the secrets of the plantation of the precious autumnal fruits, admire the centuries-old plants and the intense colours of the wood.
