Dolomiti Super Fly
Crossing the Dolomites between paths and sky!
THE EVENT
This competition is inspired by the famous 'X- Alps' but, the rules make it much more accessible. In fact, even amateur pilots, with the necessary skills and experience, can still participate and fly in the skies over the European Alps!
THE ROUTE
The race route includes a loop that starts and ends in Levico Terme, passing through: San Martino di Castrozza, Vetta d'Italia, Sarentino, Lago di Resia, Baitoni (Lago d'Idro). Along the route, athletes may only and exclusively carry one set of equipment for the entire duration of the race. Each athlete is free to choose from day to day whether to tackle the stage by air or on foot.
THE ATHLETES
The participants are all members of paragliding clubs and are chosen directly by the organisation on the basis of filling in an entry form. Only 50 athletes, who are deemed physically and technically fit, also on the basis of their results at previous competitions, may take part in the competition.
THE ORGANISATION
A special commission not only chooses the athletes who can take part in the challenge, but also draws up the rankings and directs the stages of the event in cooperation with the paragliding clubs in the locations where the stages take place.
The committee provides each athlete with an assistant who follows him/her throughout the competition, helping him/her to plan the route.
