Dolomiti Ski Jazz - Venice Ska-J
The 25th edition of Dolomiti Ski Jazz arrives in the Buffaure ski area, at the Dolomiti Geyser hut, with a concert by the Venetian group "Ska-J"
From 4th to 12th March, the "jazz track" crosses the valleys of Fassa and Fiemme with concerts on the terraces of the refuges, in clubs, theatres and squares.
From Canazei to Cavalese, all the way to Cembra: the Dolomiti Ski Jazz, scheduled from 4th to 12th March, expands again this year offering as many as 25 concerts. Warm rhythms such as jazz, but also blues, funk and Latin music will create thrilling contrasts with the snow-covered scenery of the Dolomites. Artists from the international scene will perform in the evenings in the clubs and theatres of the villages, while during the day they will take to the mountains, on the terraces of the mountain huts, some of which can also be reached by non-skiers. The festival will move day after day from one slope to another, from the Belvedere ski area in Canazei to the Alpe Cermis in Cavalese.
Dolomiti Ski Jazz: Venice Ska-J. Dolomiti Geyser mountain hut - Buffaure Pozza (1,400 m), Saturday 11 March at 3.30 p.m.
Programme: Ska-J is a Venetian group that plays jazz music arranged in an Afro-Jamaican key. The band's leader and founder is Marco Forieri, former singer and saxophonist of "Pitura Freska". The band's name, besides referring to the type of music played, is a pun on the word "scagi", which means "armpits" in Venetian dialect. After their debut in 2002, they released ten CDs, played at the Venice Carnival in St. Mark's Square and made a name for themselves through numerous appearances at festivals and concerts, serving several times as a guess band for the Wailers, the New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble and the Skatalites. A welcome return to Dolomiti Ski Jazz, where the Ska-J have already performed in several editions, always gaining the enthusiastic appreciation of the audience.
Music band: Marco Furio Forieri (vocals and sax), Edoardo Brunello (sax), Marcello Faggionato (trumpet), Frank Martino (guitar), Mauro Zulian (keyboards), Daniele Vianello (bass), Alan Liberale (drums).
The concert is free of charge. The venue can also be reached on foot, from the "Buffaure" cabin lift valley station.
