108 km of roads all closed to the cars for the longest bike day in Europe
The Dolomites and their passes, which have become legendarious for the deeds of the biggest champion cyclists, are a continue inspiration for all those who love this sport, both pros and non. 5 alpine passes will be at complete disposal of the cyclists on Sunday, June 16, when in the valley of Alta Badia, Livinallongo, Fassa and Marmolada will take place the Dolomites Bike Day: non-competitive free event open to all cyclists of any level. During the whole day, from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m., nature will be the absolute protagonist. On the passes Campolongo, Falzarego, Valparola, Pordoi and Fedaia - that is part of a bike day for the first time -, all closed to the car traffic, only road bikes, mountain bikes, e-bikes, tandems and vintage velocipedes.
At its third edition, this year the event is the longes bike day in Europe with 108 km, thanks to the new ring Arabba, Pordoi Pass, Canazei, Fedaia pass. Differently from the past years, the track presents two variations:
- Dolomites Bike Day Tour "Classic": La Villa - Corvara - Arabba - Livinallongo - Campolongo Pass - Falzarego Pass - Valparola Pass - San Cassiano - La Villa. Length 52 km; duration 5.30 hours;
- Dolomites Bike Day Tour 2019: Arabba - Pordoi Pass - Canazei - Fedaia Pass - Caprile - Arabba. Length 56 km; duration 5.45 hours.
It is advisable to ride the route counterclockwise. Every participant can choose where to start from, Canazei for Val di Fassa, in order to cover the track according to his own training condition.
