J.S. Bach The Musical Offering BWV 1079
In collaboration with Konzertverein Bozen
EXPLORING, CREATING, SHARING. Placing curiosity at the center of its musical approach, the Diderot Ensemble claims the legacy of the philosopher of the same name: open-mindedness, thirst for discovery and humility for knowledge. Created in 2008 by violinist Johannes Pramsohler, the ensemble is globally recognized for its innovative approach and vocation to rediscover and interpret on period instruments the repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries, revealing the interwoven links between performers, composers, courts and Schools of a baroque musical Europe without borders. The distinctive sound and fresh approach to early music offer the enlightened musicians of the Diderot Ensemble a field of experimentation that leaves room for rigor as well as imagination.
The award-winning discography, consisting mainly of world premiere recordings, testifies to the exploratory spirit of the members of the ensemble, which is currently in residence at the Kulturzentrum Toblach and receives support from the French Ministry of Culture, the Caisse des dépots et consignations and the Fondation Orange.
