Church Music Review
DuoCellissimo
Music in Church' review with Duo Cellissimo
DuoCellissimo presents a rich programme that showcases the wide versatility of the cello, an instrument that is harmonious in its low and soft sounds and can offer expressive and singable melodies as well as agile and lively sounds.
A first part of original works written for cello duo: sonatas in which one cello is the protagonist and the second cello plays the basso continuo accompaniment; but also duets in which the role of first part passes from one member to the other.
A second part of the programme offers transcriptions of famous virtuoso classical pieces, soundtrack arrangements and popular melodies from different cultural traditions.
