Carnival in the town square
Evening with the "Grop de la Mèscres de Cianacei e Gries", keeper of the atavistic rites of the Fassa Carnival
With "Faceres" (wooden masks, custom-made by local artists) and colorful costumes, decorated with bows and large cowbells, the members of the "Gròp de la Mèscres de Cianacei e Gries" - the association that has been preserving the traditions of the Fassa Carnival for the longest time - present to the public characters and rituals that stand out throughout the Alps. In Val di Fassa, in fact, Carnival is the most evocative and popular event of the Ladin culture, which is celebrated from January 17, the day of St. Anthony the Abbot, patron saint of Alba, until Shrove Tuesday.
At 9.00 p.m. in the main square of the village. In case of bad weather the event is going to take place at the conference room of the Cinema Teatro Marmolada.
