Andrea Soraperra Art exhibition
Permanent exhibition by the sculptor Andrea Soraperra in Penìa di Canazei
Andrea Soraperra, who was born in Penìa di Canazei in 1945, is one of the important artists that have brought the name of Canazei and of the whole Val di Fassa beyond the Italian borders. Soraperra has attended the local High School of Arts and has been so lucky to be a student of the famous sculptor and mountain guide Toni Gross. After finishing the school, he could also work at his atelier for around two years. Today he is an important sculptor that has exhibited his works in prestigious galleries and museums, even in France, Japan and in New Caledonia. In his small atelier in Penìa there are wooden bas-reliefs, crucifixes, cribs, modern sculptures and statues, "faceres" (Ladin Carnival masks). Entry: free.
