8th International Conference on UNESCO Global Geoparks

Geoparks and sustainable development

The 8th International Conference on UNESCO Global Geoparks will take place at the Adamello Brenta UNESCO Global Geopark, Trentino Province, Italy, from 11 to 14 September 2018.

The Conference on “Geoparks and sustainable development” will be held at the Palacampiglio Conference Centre in Madonna di Campiglio, located at the heart of the Geopark.

The Conference will be preceded, from 8 to 10 September, by the committee meetings of the UUG Council, GGN ExB, EGN AC and CC, APGN AC and CC, LACGN AC and CC.

The third Conference day, 13 September, is dedicated to the mid-conference field trip. Participants can choose one of six available options to become familiar with the specific geological, natural and cultural characteristics of the Adamello Brenta UNESCO Global Geopark.

A series of social and cultural events are planned during the Conference to meet local people and experience their traditions and Italian lifestyle as well.

In addition, participants will have adequate exhibition space available at the Geo-fair, to showcase and promote their own territory and its services, activities and typical products to over eight hundred delegates from all over the world.

A special schedule for the persons travelling with the delegates (partners, families and friends) has been organised for the Conference and includes excursions, activities and guided tours to allow them to experience and discover the whole Adamello Brenta Nature Geopark.

If you would like to take the advantage of the journey to Italy and can arrive earlier or extend your stay, you can join the Pre and Post Conference Tour , organised together with the Italian Geoparks, to visit and admire the geological, natural and cultural heritage of Italy and its main cities.
